If you are careful you can drill out the old cylinder and get it to release. I have done it a couple of times. Use a drill bit that is big enough to clean out the tumblers and it will come out. You will see once you drill some of it out what you need to do just don't go all the way through the cylinder. If you have a new cylinder in your hand you can see exactly how deep to go.
