years ago i had a dodge with a shifter that had a wild bend in it. so if i had my hand in the normal position when you shift into granny low i would bang my knuckles on the dash. i don't know how many times i did that, but i finally did remember after 10 times. i would let go and just hold the back of the knob. so like bill clinton would say, i feel your pain!
