You can get a copy of Chevy accessories from Chevs of the 40s. There were a couple of grill guards offered ( see my trucks, both types could be like your 40). Yes fog lights were a popular item in those days as well as LOTS of other goodies. There may be some online accy literature, check this site for tech tips etc.
