| | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 | There are many posts on the installation of a rear main seal. I did mine in the truck and I also replaced the main bearings at the same time. It was my third seal and the problem leak was created by too much clearance in the main bearings. The excess clearance allowed the crankshaft to moave enough to destroy the new seal. My rear main does not leak now.
You should take the clutch inspection cover off and verify it is coming from ther area of the flywheel. | | |
