I don't know if you have your rig up on jack stands, but if you do, leave the shifter on. After you pull the floor pan and remove all the transmission bolts, it is real easy to stand in the cab, and while straddling the shifter, wiggle the snout out and lower the tranny to the ground using the shifter as your "handle".
