| | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 637 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 637 | Three speed transmissions from 1949 to 1954 have a rear mount casting that bolts to the back of the transmission. Whem the bushing in this part becomes excessively worn it will cause vibration of the front universal joint and it will jump out of gear at highway speeds. Fix by replacing the bushing. Worn synchros will also cause this condition, as well as worn shifting forks. | | |
