In regards to the flywheel balance question, I was under the impression that each and every flywheel was balanced to itself. If you find a flywheel that fits your application, bolt it on and it should be fine.
I have seen race motor cranks balanced with the flywheel (and maybe clutch too) attached, but I don't think this is necessary for everyday use.
