1968 Chevy schoolbus. Previous owner claims the engine is a rebuilt 305 V-8. Most say that the 305 was an unlikely choice for a bus (me included) and may not have existed in 1968. Also, have heard that 305s were blue, while my engine has orange valve covers with chevrolet logos, and the block may have been orange at one time. Engine code on the VIN tag below the VIN is "DD". Does anybody know what motor this is? I posed the same question in the "big bolts" forum and got good feedback but no definitive answer.
