The shop manual says remove the 2 top transmission to clutch housing capscrews and insert 2 transmission guide pins. It says that the 2 guide pins support the transmission to avoid damage to the clutch disk. Will studs work the same as guide pins? How heavy is a 4-speed transmission in a '49 3600?
