I've been told that you can do damage to the early Chev 6s that have the oil dippers to lube the crank bearings if you were to drive up a mountain road uphill for an extended time

Apparently the oil goes to the back of the oil pan & the dippers can't pick up any oil?

I don't totally understand this. Is this their only source of oil?

This sounds crazy.....could it be true?

I need the engine experts to address this please.
