My '59 Viking 40 has a 292 as well. I have hauled gravel with it many times. Several times they overloaded me, and I crossed the scale just under 15,000 lbs. Mine seems to have plenty of torque, but it does like fuel. I just figured that was part of owning a "Big Bolt".
