I would have to check to be 100% sure about the years, but I know that there are a few points during the late '30s/early '40s that Chevrolet did not build a 1 ton truck, other than a "1 ton Special Panel", which was more af a downgraded (sigle wheels/no overloads) 1 1/2 ton. Along those same time points, GMC did not build a 1/2 ton truck, as GMC didn't build "light pickups". That was not counting the "1/2 ton Special Delivery (Buick type).
