Thanks everyone for the help! I installed an inexpensive oil pressure guage Saturday, fired her up, and got a pressure reading of about 25-30 at idle and 35-40 on the move. Sounds like it wasn't the oil pump. Thanks again for the help. It's a 1965 Chevy fltside/swb .My grandfather bought it from the original owner in 1968. I got it when he passed away recently. The motor sounds good(230), but the body is rough, not bad rusty, but every panel has at least one dent.I plan to restore it to as original as practical.I hope to do do all the work myself. The mechanical part doesn't worry me ,I can usually work my way through mech. problems. The body is a different story! Wish me luck. I plan to rely on this site heavily!
