I am looking into mounting radial tires on my 1970 GMC 3/4 ton. Would this work ok?

I have 7.50-16LT tires, would 235-85-R16 tires work?

What non-split rim rims work on these trucks? Would it be better to just update the rims and tires together? What year and make would fit the 8 bolt pattern?
