I took the advice of a few on the forum and took the axle to a shop to have the king pins pushed out. When the shop reassembled them with new king pins, there was still a lot of slop in the knuckle.
Having just purchased a '53 3100 himself, the shop manager was interested in helping me out. He tracked down a new front axle which has already been cleaned, painted and reassembled with new king pins.
I asked for my old parts back and he said they're junk and I should just have his scrap man truck them off. What do you think? Is it worth hanging on to the old axle, spindles, and king pin set? (the king pin set is new)
