I have a ’49 Chevy 1 ton with a 235 from ’55. Runs great and warms up slowly. But it continues to warm up until the needle almost touches the square under 220 on the temp gauge. Can the original temp gauge read incorrectly or are they pretty accurate over the years? What is the proper running temp of a 235 in-line?
