Several variables can get into the math mix, including rod length/stroke ratio, compression, piston dwell time at the optimum cylinder position to absorb the maximum amount ot thrust, camshaft profile, intake/exhaust port velocity, BMEP, and a few other theoretical design exercises, but 50 years of dirt track racing have taught me one inescapable fact- - - - -While the calculator (and now computer) jockeys are doing their thing, stroker engines are out there on the track winning races!
