If you are worried about your Hydra-Mayic hanging in place (safely) without the rear mount (and frame cross-brace) in place, I am certain that there is no danger. Yes, you could then drop the torque tube to put on the rear yoke of the u-joint.
Of course, you should put the rear transmission mount back in place before driving it for long distances. | | |
