Can you help a new guy out?
I entered the serial number of my truck into the "decoder" widget thingy and it came up with unknown mfg yr, cab and chassis, unknown plant. Then I entered another number, maybe engine number? and it came up 1961 Flint Michigan! Here is the data I know for sure:
1948 Chevrolet Loadmaster
GVW 11,000 lbs
SN 7113304039
(the other number is 1360003814)
wheelbase 136"
Lothar calls it "Model 1133" Here is a direct quote from an email he sent me: "The model of the truck is Loadmaster model 1133 with GVW 11,000lbs. It seems to have a 1947 serial number instead of the usual 8 starting off your serial number for 1948. The plate looks untouched, so it must have been produced with the last of the 47's. A 47 looks totally different."
Can anyone lend a hand? I'm totally new to this type of genealogical research... Thanks in advance.
