the correct holes for the linkage is on all 58 and 59 [at least] firewalls, 6 or 8, don't recall about the 5-7, all those years I've had I left as 6's, but as the V8 was started in 55 with that linkage, I'd expect to find the mount holes .... and the repro linkage bolted right up to my 58 in pic above
