I've got a 28 Chevy car, and a couple AD trucks (but not a 1/2 ton) and my first guess is that's going to be a tough swap if it even works.
The 28 is a very narrow car, and the AD trucks while still narrow is somewhat wider than the 28.

Best do some careful measuring and figuring before deciding for sure.
