Reminds me of a story about a fellow in England who bought a Spitfire aircraft just when the RAF were demobilizing them. Because the Spit was still in the RAF inventory the private owner could not paint it in RAF markings so he painted it bright red.
When criticized for it he said "its my plane and I'll paint it any colour I want!"
