Ok I found my way up to that number on the bellhouseing today in my C60 I was JUST able to get my arm in there inside the fender with a solvent soaked rag and cleaned the numbers off the best I could and they look pretty clear considering. Anyhow I am pretty sure the number is 3933180 now I seeing alot of numbers out there when looking at casting number lists for these but I did find this very number and it said it is a 68-69 327 I BELIEVE that this engine was installed in 68 as a crate engine because the number up at the front passenger side on the deck starts with CE it is CE884065. Also this engine is green if that helps and as best I could tell the main cap number was 7178 284N does that sound correct?? And again I am pretty sure the back of the block is 3933180 sorry for the long post I am not real sharp on these though I learn fast. I really need to know what engine this is and I will be pulling it out to clean it and replace some gaskets and repaint it after I use it this harvest there is just no time to pull it right now.
