For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jun 2006 Posts: 60 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jun 2006 Posts: 60 | I'm starting the body work on the 52 and discovered a large dent in the bottom of the tailgate. I wouldn't worry about it except it seems to have bowed the bottom of the tailgate. If i lay a staight edge against the bottom the side with the dent bows up about a 1/4".
The problem I'm having is how to remove the dent. it is about an 1 above the bottom and I can't get to the backside because of the way the tailgate is doubled over in that area.
I'm thinking about drilling a hole in the backside and using a punch to bang out the dent. Any and all suggestions are apprieciated.
Thanks, Gary
