Could someone tell me why my carb on my 40 Chevy pickup will only run when the choke is half closed? I had the carb rebuilt and I was having problems with the in line fuel filter only filling up half way which I had posted earlier. At the same time I replaced the fuel pump, the short piece of gas from the tank, cleaned out the fuel lines, replaced the dist. cap, points , condenser, plug and plug wires and reset the timing. Only after playing around with the choke, I found that it will purr like a kitten with the choke half closed and the fuel filter is now staying full. What gives? By the way, the heat riser is working.
