I have done this conversion many times. The '60-'62 truck frames are boxed, so doing the conversion is a little more involved, however, since you are doing the conversion on a '65 C10 frame the modification is relatively easier. The power steering conversion brackets are designed to, not only, reinforce the frame rail, due to the additional holes in this area, but also, provide the correct geometry and spacing from the frame rail, to avoid interference. Although there are several kits on the market, I fabricate a kit of 1/4" stainless steel, cut with a water jet and Grade 8 fasteners.
