thanks for the help. I believe i have left out the tube behind the lifter plate. Ha! But I do not believe that any of my head bolts were grooved. I will recheck. I have also read in the forums just now that the grooved head bolt was not incorporated until 1958 when they did away with the tube? Is this correct? Thanks for all your help.
