UTF (Universal tractor fluid) is simply mineral based hydraulic oil with viscosity modifiers and is used in everything from the transmission to the hydraulics to the axles on a transmission. It is generally a bit thick for hydraulics and a bit thin for axles and transmissions, however it is intended as a compromise so there is only 1 fluid used for service.
I'm with Crenwelge, Synthetic SAE 50 makes transmissions happy.
