Its been so long since I did my 39 it hard to remember. I think after your place the bolt thru the cab/block/frame there is supposed to be a spring before you put on the washer and nut. I boxed my frame so i didnt use the spring. I may be wrong but I think it was to allow a little cab movement. Hopefully somebody that has done a restoration will pipe up. I went the hotrod route.
