Hi there, me againn Looks like I stirred up a real hornets nest with this one. According to my resources(Chevrolet truck id guide) there was a 3.54 gear availible in '72 only. The # in the listng matches my freinds Eaton rear. Most of the one I have seen were 4.11 or 4.56 gears. It may have just been a rare option. The guide also does not list a factory 3.90 for any year 3/4 ton, only for 1/2 ton. I believe it only listed Eaton #'s, not Dana's. I could be mistaken on this as the book is not very clear on the 3/4 and 1 ton trucks, only the '59 1/2 ton with posi.
