What would make a good donor rear end for my 59 flatbed dually.
It is a 3/4 ton with a 235 , 4 speed with a propeller shaft brake. And the shop manual for a 55.2 says that with this set up it has a 1 ton rear-end.
I want to swap it out with a lighter dually rear-end.
What I want is a faster rear-end, newer brakes, smaller drums and a smaller pumpkin but I want to keep my 8 lug wheel pattern.
I would like even more to set it up for a newer 4X4 setup.
I'm not going to haul a house so I want a lighter faster setup for my 235 and a setup that will go with a 327 or a 350 if I decide to swap out the 235 in the future.
