The shifter on my GM 89mm (RPO MYA-6) says Hurst on the handle, and this is the original shifter that came with the tranny. I had mistakenly assumed that the Mopar A-833 and the GM 89mm are the same. The are the same EXCEPT for the input shaft, tail housing, and bell housing bolt pattern, which is me saying they are NOT the same. I bought an A-833 on eBay and found all this out the hard way. It would be possible to make an adapter plate to graft a GM bell housing to the mopar tranny, but it would be a LOT of work.
Thanks Tony for telling me what yoke this tranny uses--I haven't been able to find that out easily from anyone local although I haven't worked up nerve enough to ask our local GM dealer's parts gurus.
