I was actually under the impression brass was the better of the two against corrosion as the benefit for going that route in addition to not needing the superior hardness of stainless in brake systems. One sleeving shop emphasized use of only tempered brass and was a hedge against breaking castings of impossible to find vintage corvette and other obsolete parts. I wonder if some of the brass problems were with the use of non-tempered softer brass.
