It was just different fenders..... Sort of but not really.

For the non-purist the short answer is you can just swap fenders, modify some brackets and make any chevy stepside bed into whatever year you want.

All these things changed in varied configurations: cross sill placement, Stake pocket sheet metal design, embossed patterns, rear sill mounting brackets, width of bed boards, etc.

Many of us aren't hung up on these details. But some 'bolters do care and want their trucks to be sportin' the OEM pieces parts.
