Don't know what your final intentions are Jeff, I hope to god that it's not to turn that truck into a hot rod. Based on the pictures in your album, I doubt you will find a nicer 40's area truck to start with.
Have you seen Tim Sheridan’s ’46?
http://www.46chevytruck.com/ if not you have to spend the weekend looking at his project, it’s truly an inspiration for anyone starting on the period truck.
As far as you’ve torn her down I don't think I would skimp on anything. It's not unusual to put several thousand into just getting one on the road initially, if it were me with the easy access you have to everything now, I would completely rebuild the entire brake system. I'd pull everything and if the cylinders aren’t pitted or worn then rebuild them, new ones are a sure bet, I'd go with new lines, springs and all. When you try to just fix enough to get things going it always comes back to bite you somewhere down the road.
Stay with the Bolt and you will get a lot of help along the way to those questions that are bound to pop up. When it comes to luggin' n' totin' and wrench twisting looks like you've already got the job filled with the three boys. You're lucky, all I have is my "big old wife" when I need an extra hand and I have to twist her arm to get her into the garage after I catch her.
