I've never had a working throttle cable or the right linkages in any of my old trucks.
There is an extra arm on the accelerator pedal linkage that may have something to do with it? There must have been a clamp similar to the choke cable clamp as well.
It's a 283 w/ Rochester 2-jet as found, but originally an inline 6.
