Okay the universal saga continues. Nothing is ever easy. I bought a gasket kit from Jim Carter. It came with a bunch of paper gaskets, cork gasket and felt seal/gasket. Now I put one paper gasket between the universal cover and the transmission but there is a little gap in there still. The kit came with about 6 of this same gasket but I assumed that they would be for a larger truck also that had muliple universals. Was I supposed to use all these paper gaskets? I've never heard of putting more than one paper gasket side by side. Does much oil splash out of the transmission into the universal joint area? Will I end up with an oil leak in this area? I am not taking the universal back out so I might just loosen it off and use gasket maker in there. (That is after I drill out the bolt I broke off in there ARRRRRG!)
