I am painting the "splash" pans that surround the lower engine area. the exhaust and oil breather/overflow go down through these. they are currently black, but were repainted about 30 years ago. Is black the correct color? Would it have been a chassis black finish or some other finish. I'm also wondering about the engine color. The gray that's on it now (a recent repaint) is about the shade of a gray primer. I've got conflicting info that says this color is correct, and other opinions say it should be darker. I personally think it should be a darker gray. Does anybody know who has "the" correct paint for this? I have heard some restoration engine paint colors are not accurate. I appreciate your input. | | |
