I had an 85 S-10 and a 93 Jimmy, they were both 5-speeds and both were hydraulic.
don't comprehend what you mean by hydraulic linkage. the shifter mounts on top of the tailhousing and is a straight internal mechanism.
perhaps you are refering to the later hydraulic clutch setup
