The T5 will work with the 283 if you don't abuse it . If you go to
www.inliners.org and look at left of page , click on " tech tips " then click on the T5 page , you'll find lots of info ! There's also lots of T5 install info and personal experiences shared on the forum pages . Type it into search and you'll find many posts concerning the swap . Good luck !
