Hi,
The windshield on my '56 GMC 3/4 ton was a tougher task than I thought. This should be a rite of passage for stovebolters- putting in auto glass. The gasket was a bit tricky to put on, but it fit well, and the string idea sounded easier than it was. I stopped the install when the gasket slipped off the glass, but we were close! The rear window is also for another day. I remembered two things from this forum- 1) its supposed to be fun(thats why I stopped) and 2) carefully slap the glass into place. One can't get leverage for a push up on a step ladder.

Well, my time went so quickly,
I went lickety-splitly
Out to my ol' 55.
As I pulled away slowly,
Feelin' so holy,
God knows, I was feelin' alive..... Tom Waits, Ol' 55
