I have bought the Spectra tanks for my 1st and 2nd series GMC's and for my 1956 Ford cars. They all fit like the new ones. The 1st and 2nd series fillers on opposite sides of the cab. Maybe they sent you the wrong one. There are some guys from Texas advertising tanks on eBay, but I think they are Asian tanks. The Spectra are made in Canada and lots of stuff for our old GM jalopies was made in Canada in the first place.
