There is a big difference between 1955 1st series and 1955 2nd series. A fun and easy way to see the obvious differences would be to look at the gallery

They show a picture of the part, a discription and a year range the part goes to. There are lots of parts that are different between the 1st and 2nd series but also some are the same.
