It has 1 or more pipe thread outlets one of which is used for the heater outlet. If there is another opening with a plug in it this can be used for a senser. Most of them had an outlet on top the cyl. head about 1/3way back. Some had a outlet on top the therm housing, but that would not be very suitable for some sensors. If you don't have more then 1 on the intermitiat houseing you might find one from a later engine. When they started putting the emission controls on them they put outlets for coolant sensors.
