i know por-15 has been addressed many times before but my application needs further clarification as i have heard conflicting information.

the paint on the roof and hood on one of my trucks has worn away and there is surface rust which is starting to pit. all i would like to do is stabilize it with por 15. i know that on a surface exposed to sunlight por15 needs to be covered. i have been told that por-15 can only be covered with a certain type of paint and that conventional paint will not adhere to it. when i called por-15 directly the rep. told me that i could go over the por-15 with any paint no problem??? which course of action should i take?

also i know that por-15 sells the marine clean and the metal prep which they recommend using as part of the three part process. my truck is not a show truck so i do not want to invest too much time or money. what kind of results could i expect if i were to just scrape and clean the metal real well and just apply the por-15 direct???
