I am quite certain that the 1420 simply means that it is a Canadian built 3/4 ton pick up truck. Most online info deals with the US built trucks. You could ask in the general truck talk forum. Maybe 3B can help you figure it out for sure.
Anyway, enjoy the restoration journey, keep us posted on your progress and don't forget to meet the 'BC bolters', they're quite an active bunch.
