youll get different opinions..pros and cons... i run one..only cuz i like to see higher pressure... and supposedly ive read you can get 1000 rpm per ten pounds of presssure...hence 70lbs 7000 rpm.. most of us including me..dont need that..and a standard oil pump is fine.. ive also read that a hi volume pump can suck the pan dry on and floored hi acceleration without a larger volume pan... of course we can read about anything we want and believe anything we want.... but id guess for normal,,and i mean even hotroddin alittle normal...and standard oil pump is fine... as far as need..??? well i suppose ya need it for racing..or hi rpms applications... ya gonna run ur stovebolt at 7000 rpm..??? hehehe....so what did i tell ya nuthin... like i said..i like to run one...but its not needed for my rusty old chevy pickup thats a little hi performance.. i only kick the four barrel eidelbrock in occaisonally just to hear her suck air...LOL..i dont like buyin gasoline that much these days...LOL..
