I just removed the crank and cam gears in my shop using gear pullers, penetrating oil, propane torch, impact wrench, and a brass drift. They did not come willingly, but they did come off w/o damage. I had the crank gear under a great amount of tension from the gear puller, heated the gear all the way around with the torch, applied penetraiting oil to the seams and then I struck the gear with the brass drift and the gear just popped loose. I removed the cam gear by placing cam gear on top of the opened jaws of my vice with the cam pointing towards the floor and heated the gear w/ the torch again. Then I used a large brass drift and a hammer to drive the cam out of the cam gear. Good luck and wear a face shield and gloves in case the puller gives way before the gear!
