Before I go any further I have to say you people are alot more friendly than the Racing people. The Stovebolt Forum seems to have the Best group yet. The 49 I have in the shop was an accident,I answered a local Craigs list ad for help with a Dream. I am the kind of person who will help people anywhere anytime so when i saw the ad I knew I had the skills and shop to help him. When I answerd his ad I explained that what he was looking for would fit into my hobby. The biggest Challenge for me has been the mix of parts in this type of truck. It has a 77 Camaro front clip from the firewall forward. The 5 speed trans is out of a S10 the bellhousing is from a Vette with a fork to actavate the clutch. My friend wants the master cylinder and booster on the engine firewall along with the clutch master. Its been a challenge to find the best way least cost way to help him since I feel like I am filling in the blanks. Of course I have to seperate the past 19 years of Drag Racing car design.
My plans now are to finish this and then purchase my own 40s-50s truck. I plan on going the factory stock way,no mix and match of parts. I dont need to have the power under the hood on Great Old Truck. But its always an opption . LOL Darn Racing Bug. For those who ask where I am in Wisconsin ,Look on the Map for a small little town Greenbush. If your ever looking for a nice place to take a ride to The Kettle Moraine State Forest is in this area with lots of great old roads .
