The older vehicles don't always make complete sense to me, though they are so simple...but it seems like a vacuum leak would effect the running more when it is cold than hot..It almost seems like vapor lock, but it starts too easily when it does dies...or like it is running too rich...which is OK when cold, but not good when hot.
I'll definately look and I appreciate the help for sure, but it seems different than what I would expect.
